DOLCE & GABBANA OPEN GOLD RESTAUANT IN MILAN

Iconic Italian fashion label Dolce & Gabbana are the latest to get into the monochrome color trend. Hot on the heels of Hollywood's green themed bar, Social Hollywood, and the Gold themed Restaurante Les Cols in Catalina, Spain, the dynamic design duo have opened a new restaurant with an entirely gold interior. The golden color scheme is in keeping with the team's limited edition gold phone for Motorola. When news of the D & G restaurant hit the gossip vine expectations were high: could Dolce and Gabanna extend the sassy Italian aesthetic they are renowned for to the restaurant business? The answer is a resounding yes!

Side Hotel Hamburg

SIDE by SIDE
SIDE is our first 5-star hotel in Hamburg, at a very central location between the Binnenalster and several shopping arcades.

We have created a luxury hotel of the 21st Century: a 12-floor-high lifestyle experience which will become a must for any visit to Hamburg.

The hotel has 178 rooms in five different categories – all are minimalist in style, yet welcoming, comfortable and with a personal touch. The ten ‘flying’ suites on the 10th and 11th floors are all decked out in white. All rooms offer the conveniences of a modern office: two telephones with voice mail, fax and modem plug.

A lounge is located on the 8th floor, high above the roofs of Hamburg giving to unusual views: outside over the port and the Alster lake; inside, 25 metres down into the atrium. On the ground floor, the bar and fusion, the restaurant, serve as a meeting place for hotel guests and outside visitors alike. Their open portals allow a glimpse into the hotel foyer, thus interconnecting all public areas of the hotel. Three variable function rooms, arranged around the atrium on the open gallery of the first floor, offer space for up to 100 people. The function room, large enough to accommodate 300 people for celebrations or conferences is one floor beneath the ground, yet still with daylight from outside.

The pool, beauty and fitness areas are lively in a host of colours. This is where hotel guests come to unwind and indulge in a little body care and pampering. A superior selection of wellness options, including Jacuzzi, steam bath and massage, beckons with the promise of relaxation.

Design / Architecture
The architect Jan Störmer created a forward-looking facade featuring a combination of glass and nature stone that stretches across all 12 floors. From the top 3 floors, you have a wonderful view across Hamburg.

This architecture is complimented by the work of designer Matteo Thun from Mailand and the house bears his handprint. Just minimalist, reducing everything to the bare essentials, that is the fundamental idea behind the work of Matteo Thun when he decorated the public spaces.

The atrium-styled lobby, which stretches up to the 8th floor, lives from the illuminated installations of the New York light choreographer Robert Wilson and is an exceptionally beautiful aesthetic experience.

SIDE SPA

SPA OPENING 19.02.2005 The wellness oasis in the heart of Hamburg presents itself in a refreshingly colourful design and is luxuriously furnished.

Yellow means feeling good - hence, the treatment rooms are located in the “yellow box”. Included in the programme to spoil and pamper you are various body treatments, Thai massage, facials, peelings and lymphatic drainage. Wellness at its best - enjoy gourmet eating in fusion and relax in the SPA.

A hit for those with a tight schedule - the 15-minute STOP massage, not just for the lunch break.

Green brings with it refreshment - spacious showers and a modern solarium in the “green box” wakes up tired spirits and offers a luxurious ambience.

Orange releases energy - an extensively equipped gym and fitness area in the “orange box” offers cinema and music in addition to cardio equipment.

Hotel Location
SIDE, the luxury design hotel for the individual traveller, is situated in the heart of Hamburg - between the Gänsemarkt square and the National Opera -, close to the Binnenalster and only a few minutes walk from art and cultural centres as well as shopping precincts and Hamburg’s exhibition site.
