As its name implies, Las Ventanas al Paraíso, A Rosewood Resort, is a window to Paradise. A Ty Warner Property and one of the most acclaimed resorts ever, Las Ventanas has redefined luxury and pampering, reaching out with special touches that are the hallmark of refined hospitality. The desert resort captivates its guests with expansive suites, a world-class spa, inspired cuisine and an intoxicating ambiance.

Expansive and richly appointed, all suites have marble showers and Conchuela limestone floors. At the end of the day share the warmth of a seaside fire, and be lulled to rest by the rhythm of gently washing waves. Or, turn your personal telescope toward the heavens to gaze at the shimmering stars.

Known for its attentive service, luxurious suites, health spa and restaurants, Las Ventanas al Paraiso is a relaxing hideaway located at the tip of Mexico’s Baja Peninsula. The resort, built around the natural beauty of the peninsula, was named “Windows to Paradise.”

The Mediterranean-Mexican architecture and design of the resort includes a network of swimming pools with a swim-up bar, patios overlooking the sea and al fresco dining by the Sea of Cortez. This all-suite resort features suites with individual relaxation pools and Jacuzzi, rooftop patios and individual telescopes for stargazing.

All of the 61 suites are lavishly furnished and measure at least 960 square feet in size. The suites offer living areas, wood-burning fireplaces and beautiful views of the sea. If you are planning a honeymoon, book a Rooftop Terrace Junior Suite so that you can enjoy a romantic dinner complete with candles and stars on your rooftop terrace.

The Spa at Las Ventanas al Paraiso features an impressive menu of services. Unique treatments include Javanese Lular Royal Ritual, Wholistic Crystal Healing Massage and Nopal Anti-Cellulite & Detox Wrap, an ancient Mexican tradition. Separate facilities for men and women include sauna, steam and whirlpool. One of the specialty services includes a treatment program at sea aboard the resort’s luxurious yacht.

The area offers six exceptional golf courses with desert and ocean views. Guests can choose from three Jack Nicklaus-designed courses, a Tom Fazio-designed course, a Tom Weiskopf-designed course and a Robert Trent Jones II, a Roy & Pete Dye signature club. Contact the resort concierge directly to book tee times.

Vacation activities available in the area include sailing, horseback riding, deep-sea & sport fishing charters, romantic sunset cocktail cruises, tennis, desert excursions into Los Cabos, snorkeling & scuba excursions and many others.

Guests have many dining options at the resort. The Restaurant serves an original cuisine created by Las Ventanas called Baja-Mediterranean indoors or in an open-air setting. The Sea Grill offers contemporary Mexican cuisine.
A separate 2,400-bottle wine cellar, La Cava, features special weekly A Taste of Baja degustation dinners and private dining.
The Tequila & Ceviche Bar serves a variety of ceviches complemented by a selection of tequilas.
The Service
Check-in is simply being taken to your room — by staff members who already know your name and have your favorite drink waiting. While most workers surreptitiously cross the resort via underground tunnels, poolside service is very much in evidence with attendants handing out fruit sorbets, spritzing Evian or offering preloaded iPods. They’ll also provide a broadband wireless TV if you can’t bear to miss your favorite show or have a burning desire to check your email from the pool.
The Highlights
A fair number of guests come here to celebrate, and the celebrity quotient is high (J. Lo, Jessica Simpson and Pink, for those who care). The spa uses native Baja flowers, plants and herbs in their holistic treatments and rituals, and golfers tee off on four surrounding championship golf courses. Fortunately, the restaurant shines, combining Continental preparation with Mexican flavor and flair in dishes such as merlot-glazed tuna with pinto beans and lobster bisque with coconut. Dine down in the enchanted La Cava, where the lamps sway in the sea breezes, or à deux on the beach.
